Mugi-sama ga miteru

Made a 4koma for celebrating the fact that my favorite scene from the Hayate no Gotoku manga got animated. Click the pic for hueg size.

[Mugi-sama is watching you]
1# H : “(I was caught off-gard. Just for a moment, my heart fluttered
over a girl)”
2# H : “(All the more reason to make this clear !!)
Okay, Ayumu. You see, I…”
3# A : “Um, do you have to say it now ?”
H : “Eh ?”
4# H : “… who are you ?”

Over nine thousand hours with Paint. Yeah used screenshot as reference for the second panel, no need to mention it, it’s on purpose.

I must say that the scene wasn’t as intense as in the manga, but I liked it anyway~

I mentionned it before, but despite the fact that I know all the story, I enjoy the show pretty much. Mostly because it delivers many lovely faces in every episodes.

Time for some random screenshots~

Hayate no Gotoku #19

Blogged by on Saturday May 2nd, 2009 at 8:29 pm in Anime (spoilers), English, Hayate no Gotoku, Manga (spoilers) | 0 Comments »

Been 2 weeks already that the new volume of Hayate no Gotoku got released, and have read it last week so it’s time for deh random scans.

hayate19_cover1 hayate19_cover2
Front cover : it’s only later when I took the book from my bag for reading it that I noticed that something awesome was actually happening in the background. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 (ry
Back cover : yay new characters~

Actually I haven’t scanned that much from it, because this volume was some ‘transition’ volume. Means, it was filled with random stories which ain’t related to the Mykonos Island arc and the whole End Of The World stuff. Though, it seems it gets back into the seriousness again in the next volume (that what the author said in the atogaki).

But anyway, one would say that HnG is the best when it gets its usual love and crazyness so you may say it was a quite enjoyable volume. Well don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed it very much too. But yeah I’m such a sucker for drama… sorry orz

Ok, random scans posting starts here~

hayate19_0001
First chapter was Miki chapter (<3)
Even tho it wasn’t really necessary, she kinda did her ‘coming-out’ :o
Miki and Hayate are spying on Makimura-sensei for making some good vid, and actually witness her being confessed by some random student.
Hayate says they should give up on the idea of filming the scene, but Miki doesn’t really want to miss the chance to get such a nice shot.
Hayate : “But a teacher and a student, it’s forbidden love !”
Miki : “Then what ? Even if it’s forbidden love, it doesn’t change the fact that it’s love ! ///”
w00t Miki for being the official yurikko of HnG

hayate19_0003
Nice cup~ (want).

hayate19_0003a hayate19_0003b
Left : It’s been some kind of new rule, but a HnG volume can’t be complete with some loli Maria-san appearance. XD
Right : ‘Adult’ Maria-san is fine too (HAWT).

hayate19_0004
Oyaji Nagi~ XD
<3 <3 <3
Oyajikko are the new trend in manga/anime… for my greatest pleasure~

hayate19_0005
… But it’s the so beautiful Aika-san who finally gets hit by the water~

hayate19_0007 hayate19_0006
AIKA-SAN SAABISU KITA !!! (insert tons of <3s here)
I happened to know recently that it’s Emiri Katou (Kagami from Lucky Star) who’s voicing the HnG #1 beauty in the anime… I SO HAVE TO HEAR THAT

hayate19_0008
Aika-san asked Hayate to get her some new pantsu, but finally leaves before he came back.
Maria : “Ah, you’re already leaving ?”
Aika : “Yes, I feel a bit chilly but it’s ok, I called out the car”
N- No-pan Aika-san ////;;;

hayate19_0009
While Hayate and the rest of the crew are preparing their trip to Mykonos Island for deh great teary reunion with Athena-chan, Saki, Wataru and Saku are enjoying a little trip to Las Vegas.
Why do I feel relieved when seeing Wataru being all deredere for Saki ?

hayate19_0010
half-awake Saki = <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

hayate19_0012
And that’s when the new characters finally appear :
Mikoto, aka Wataru-mama (hawt), and her lolicon butler Ichijou-kun.

hayate19_0013
Oh.
My.
God.

hayate19_0014
Drunk Saki <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

hayate19_0015
Saki is incarnation of love.
<3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
Honestly, Wataru rules for having all these onee-san who want him so bad (Saki, Sister, Aika…)
WATARU THE TRUE MALE LEAD OF HAYATE NO GOTOKU

hayate19_0016
Last panel : DEH AWESOME REFERENCE
rofl’d

hayate19_0017
Bunny girl Saku + a couple of random cute blushing face.
I wub how she’s hitting Wataru’s head with her bunny ears XD
<3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

And so, this volume ends at the climax of that Wataru/Wataru-mama ‘interlude arc’. Well, not so much to say about it, just that it’s refreashing to see Wataru as the male lead. I have a lot of sympathy for him. And w00t for the Saki and Saku saabisu~

Now hafta wait until mid-June for moar Hayate goodness.

===

Though I can’t really get anime anymore, I could manage to get the first episodes (1 to 4) of the second season of the Hayate no Gotoku anime (there was no way I could miss that).

I was pretty surprised to see that this season starts with the content of the 6th volume of the manga. I mean, I could only watch the first half of the first season, which was 52 episodes long. So I wonder what the hell did they put in the second half of the show cause it sure doesn’t take 52 episodes for animating 5 volumes. ^^;

But well, who cares~. I SO HAVE WAITED FOR THIS SECOND SEASON.

snapshot20090418002629
I like the OP, this part in particular <3
Actually, the more I’m watching it, the more I wish for some Blue x Red to happen. Because of the manga I’ve been thinking that Hamzawa-san and Hina should be together forever, but I wish for Miki to find happiness too – she’s one of my favs – and Red-chan is most likely the one that would bring it to her. Well, she likes being picked on and Blue likes to pick on people XD

snapshot20090417232731 snapshot20090417232747
Oh man it started with the marathon thing and that cute Hina x Miki scene <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
My only complaint is that this ‘arc’ was only 1 episode long.

snapshot20090418003210
Second episode, and it already gets the awesome Sister <3

snapshot20090418003612
… and that’s when I notice that she’s Yui Horie.
YUI-CHAN ? IN MY HAYATE NO GOTOKU ?

WATARU YOU’RE MY HERO
Again, I’ve been a bit disappointed to see that this whole ‘Shitsuji Tora no Ana’ arc was only 2 episodes long in the anime. They skipped all the part when Hayate becomes Hamzawa-san’s butler for one day :/ (it had a reference to it tho)

snapshot20090428230358
Awesome reaction <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
The 4th episode is my favorite episode so far. I liked the fact that now it goes ‘1 chapter = 1 episode’ (somewhat), making this episode well-paced and very enjoyable~

snapshot20090428231328
AND THAT’S WHEN THE AWESOMENESS BEGINS
The starting point of the whole HHH thing, or when HnG becomes ultimate love & epicness.

snapshot20090428232329
“kuishinbou da na~ ! sasuga Maria-san !” XD
Maria-san ftw <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

I’m getting pretty excited to see that my favorite moments from the manga are getting animated one after another… I just can’t wait for moar.

===

Let’s conclude this post with my ‘will never happen but I wish it happens‘ who-will-end-up-with-who list~

Hayate x Sakuya
Nagi x Wataru or Isumi
Hinagiku x Ayumu
Miki x Izumi

Sorry, Maria-san orz

Hitohira volume 4 & 5

Blogged by on Tuesday October 7th, 2008 at 3:21 pm in Anime (spoilers), English, Manga (spoilers), Others | 0 Comments »

Hitohira was one of the good surprises from 2007. It wasn’t an anime I was especially looking forward to, but after watching the first episode I found it really nice and kept watching the show. And it’s actually a very pleasant show, I really enjoyed it very much. For people who doesn’t know, it’s about a very shy girl named Mugi Asai, who goes totally silent when embarassed and is forcibly enroled in a “Drama Research Club”, the actual drama club’s rival club.

Personally it’s one of my favorite ‘slice-of-life’ anime. Nice story, the perfect amount of drama, great characters (especially Mugi and Nono-sempai) and some delicious yuri-vibes.

So when I found the manga in the second-hand books at the library I was quite happy, since the manga is still on-going in japan, and the anime goes until the middle of the volume 4 only. I’ve read the 5 released books a couple of months ago, so since I’m here for killing time I thought I might as well post some stuffs about it.

2007-04-07-02-49-08
Mugi is love. I fell in love at once with her seiyuu Orie Kimoto,
a rookie seiyuu. Nono-sempai luvs Mugi too~

Surprisingly enough, Mugi possesses an amazing comical side.

She’s quite a delinquent too XD

2007-06-21-03-55-41
Nono-sempai is so awesome <3 <3 <3
Best character of the show. Cute, cool, hilarious…

2007-06-21-03-56-19
… and gay for Mugi <3

Moar Mugi x Nono moments, from the club’s trip episode.

2007-07-10-07-36-38 2007-07-10-07-36-47 2007-07-10-07-36-54
Episode 7. Nono and Mirei, her ex-best friend and actual president
of the Drama Club, locked in the school’s stocktroom.
Truly one of the best moments in anime history, IMO.
Mirei is also very awesome for worrying so much about Nono, and
because she’s the one crying when Nono loses her voice.
So deliciously yuri.

2007-07-10-07-37-02
XD

2007-07-22-05-30-45
Mugi x Kayo-chan, this so has to be real.

2007-07-22-05-30-57
IT’S LOVE, I TELL YOU !

The anime ends with Nono-sempai’s graduation and the dissolution of the Drama Research Club, but as I said the manga continues past it, with Mugi-choco entering her second year. That’s not so much of a big surprise, but Mugi decides to continue acting and join the Drama Club. I must say that I miss Nono, Mirei and Kayo-chan a lot, and the manga lost mostly all of its yuri-vibe after that, but this is still pretty funny. Mugi is still the cuteness, and the girls from Mirei’s club are all as much lovely as they’re crazy. And it’s nice to see Mugi acting again.

1219653101800
Tama-chan, the new club president after Mirei’s graduation,
is my favorite character in the Drama Club.
“CHANCE GA KITA ZE !! Go prepare me some nice clothes !”
Best Cinderella evar XD

1219653190218
“Eroero Essaim !”, and Mugi appears as a totally HAWT
bunny-eared witch godmother <3 <3 <3

1219653254614
Tama-chan is most of the time a nice and scatterbrained girl,
but occasionally turns into Mirei-san. XD

1219653358360
Kodomo no Hitohira.
Mugi-chan dunno how to make new friends,
but finally manages to get their attention XD

1219653483566
A : “Hey, Nono-chan ! Did you watch yesterday’s MagiMugi episode ?”
B : “It was funny~”
Nono : “… yeah, it was really fun…”
A : “… you don’t have to lie, you know…”
Nono : “(I wasn’t lying though…)”
*Sad grade-schooler days*
awww feel like hugging that poor Nono-chan right now

I have one major complain about this manga though : the fact that the author only releases one volume a year :/

The fifth volume having been released on April 2008, next volume won’t be released before long… Neither ja.wiki.org or amazon.co.jp announces a releases date. Honestly that sucks badly, cause I really enjoy this manga very much.

“Just as planned !”

Today’s episodes

Blogged by on Saturday October 6th, 2007 at 4:30 am in Anime (spoilers), English | 0 Comments »

iDOLM@STER Xenoglossia 25 : seems like Yukiho-chan won’t be the final boss finally… but still, I liked my bad and lil’ psycho Yukiho-chan.

Ribbon-chan is cute when she gets serious.

And evil Yukiho was great. Also, it’s the first time that I heard Yui Horie as the “bad guy”.

What I was actually waiting for…

I was looking forward to this fight ’cause who says fight says also teary reconciliation.

Hayate no Gotoku 27 : so the show is entering in its tournament mode…

キタ━━━━(゚∀゚)━━━━ !!!!!
Hinagiku is entering the tournament as a butler, and on top of that, as Miki’s butler. That couldn’t be more awesome. Now I just hope she’ll kick Hayata-kun’s ass.

Lucky Star 23 : and so again, got to see the last episode a second time thanks to afk (well episode 24 is a one-story episode, so episode 23 is the last episode using the “4koma” pattern).

The Awesome Otaku Girls trio. Are such nice otaku girls really existing somewhere ?

One of my favorite scenes finally animated. Hiyorin FTW.

So Minami’s fans who haven’t read the manga can finally see her true colors. She’s not a Ay*nami R*i-chan clone.

Obligatory KonaKaga pic.

The anime version wins for having Patty as a regular character.

Dennou Coil 15 : Now that Gurren Lagann ended, I can say that Dennou Coil is my favorite anime from everything I’m watching now. Again, an awesome episode. Yasako is lovely.

Nagasarete Airantou 26 : a rather typical end for a rather typical show. It was a decent.

First time I see a new character introduced at the end of a final episode. O_o
I guess she is a character from the manga they couldn’t put in the anime. But I don’t think they will make a second season for this show.

This is the time for the fall season animes to appear now.

Lucky Star 22, Dennou Coil 14

Blogged by on Thursday October 4th, 2007 at 6:20 am in Anime (spoilers), English | 0 Comments »

Again thanks to afk I got a reason to rewatch an awesome episode.

I sometimes feel that, despite being one of the four main characters, Miyuki gets a rather limited screentime.

Konata and Kagami sharing a sweet potatoe. Usually in anime, it’s what we call an indirect kiss, and they make quite a fuss about. Funny that Konata-chan didn’t mention anything about it, you would expect that she’d tease Kagamin with that.

I guess it’s the reason why Soujirou is so appreciated on 4ch*n.

Second half was simply awesome. I shed manly tears.

Dennou 14 was mostly a summary episode. Well, it’s ok once in a while.

Is it me, or does Akira actually use his pet for peeping on her sis Fumie under the shower ?

Akira-sama is watching you.

Nagasarete Airantou (episodes 1 ~ 25)

Blogged by on Thursday October 4th, 2007 at 4:50 am in Anime (spoilers), English | 0 Comments »

Short summary : After a fight with his father, Ikuto runs away from home and decides to board a ship for taking some vacation. But the ship is hit by a storm, and Ikuto wakes up later on an isolated island full of girls who are still living like in the medieval era.

Well… really typical harem anime. A bit crazy, but far less than Seto no Hanayome. It’s silly and there is no drama, so it’s the kind of lighthearted servicey show you can watch if you have too much time in your hands. Personally, I’ve sticked with this show mostly because the heroine Suzu is dubbed by Yui Horie (this time into “Manabi-mode” instead of “Yasuna-mode”) and for knowing more about Rin who I was interested in at first. But for a show about an island full of girls, I sure didn’t feel any yuri vibes.

Finally I enjoy it quite a bit, mostly for its lightheartedness and some of the characters, Ayane, Chikage-san (dubbed by Shizuka Ito, aka Akiha-sama/Hinagiku/Darry), Rin (dubbed by Ryoko Shiraishi, aka Hayata-kun) and Shinobu.

Rin the carpenter. I’ve always been into boyish/tomboy characters, so she’s naturally the character I liked at first. She’s in fact a bit clumsy and feminine, and is actually better as a cooker than as a carpenter.

I guess it’s a rule in manga/anime (Japan ?) : put 2 girls in a bath and it will end up with breasts-fondling action.

You know, ever since I started to watch this show, there is something that I find “attractive” about Ayane, but I can’t tell what it is… maybe her “unattractiveness” ? Anyway, she ended up being my favorite character with no reason, even though she’s bratty and irritating. I wish Machi-nee could give her a break sometimes. ;_;

Episode 18, Shinobu appears. A clumsy ninja AND samurai. She rapidly became my second favorite. This is also because she is dubbed by the seiyuu of Mugi from Hitohira, Orie Kimoto, a beginner seiyuu who I’m already fan of.

Still dunno what I like about her.

This show really got a nice cast, since this character from episodes 19 & 20 was dubbed by Yuki Matsuoka (Tsuruya-san). Awesome scene, btw.

Zettai muri !

iDOLM@STER Xenoglossia (episodes 1 ~ 24)

Blogged by on Wednesday October 3rd, 2007 at 10:40 pm in Anime (spoilers), English | 0 Comments »

Short summary : Haruka, a girl from the countryside, moves to Tokyo because of an audition for becoming an idol, but she has in fact been chosen for defending Earth from falling meteors by piloting a giant mecha.

The only similarity between this anime and the game I talked about before is the name.

I still don’t get the point of making an anime based on a game if half of the characters actually don’t share the design and/or personality of their former self (duh Azusa and Yayoi >_> ), well except of course for blatant commercial aspect thanks to the iM@S franchise.

Even more incomprehensible when a idol raising/dating-sim game is transformed into a shitty mecha anime. Yeah, I said it earlier, I hate mecha animes, so I’d have rather seen a typical harem comedy show.

But well, I couldn’t not watch it, since it was somewhat related to a game I’m interested in, I had to give it a watch. Moreover, Iori and Yukiho are respectively dubbed by the seiyuu of Tomari and Yasuna from Kashimashi, Yukari Tamura and Yui Horie (Tomari is one of my fav manga/anime characters ever, and Yui Horie is my favorite seiyuu).

And… ok I must admit that even if I really disliked this show at first, I grew some sympathy for it. When there isn’t all that mecha crap, it’s in my opinion a decent show. Mostly when the episodes are centered on Iori or Yukiho. The mecha lovers actually think that these character-centered episodes are boring, but really, I think they are the best episodes of the show (fuck the purists, anyway).

Again, it’s because of some specific characters that I started to watch a show, and that I’m still watching it. Yeah, I don’t need more reason, having at least a character I like is enough for sticking with an anime. And Iori and Yukiho are the main reason I’m watching this show. Iori is a lovely boyish and tsundere character, and Yukiho is a gentle girl with a hidden comical side.

Episode 5 was a nice Yukiho-centered episode, which ended with this great Haruka x Yukiho scene. Yuri even makes shitty mecha anime being better.

So basically, Haruka and her robot are in love with each others. LOL mecha animes…
But I kinda like the idea of Haruka keeping everythings secret from her friend Yayoi, and that this very one is thinking that Haruka got a boyfriend when she’s speaking of her mecha.

Haruka has to flash her mecha for making it more obedient… and the mecha is actually recording the whole scene, lol. Well all the girl x mecha love crap is so ridiculous that you may find it eventually funny.

Episode 10 was an awesome Iori-centered episode. She reminds me so much of Tomari, and not only because they share the same seiyuu. I so liked this scene, when she run hiding herself without any words to let her joy explode, so cute.

Her forehead shines during action scenes, and that’s awesome.

And well, she’s a tsundere.

Episode 11. What is the best way to prevent someone from dying by cold ? The japanese method : skinship. (classic)

The Iori from the flashbacks looked like the Iori from the game.

OMG Kamina reincarnated into Iori.

My favorite episode so far was the 20th, which was love and tears.

It starts with what is surely the best scene of the show, the grand reunion between the twins Ami & Mami, after that Mami was being “trapped” and put into coma for 7 years into her mecha, which wanted to cure her while she was in a close-to-death state after a serious injury.

Then, it turned in a Nanaka 6/17 kind of way, which was nice.

Half of episode 20, Haruka broke after that Yukiho betrayed her and joined the enemy, and started to act creepy (and Iori is still great).

… before turning into a totally cute (without these stupid ribbons) hikikomori (end of ep 20 and most of ep 21). After that the ep was Chihaya and Azusa-san centered, respectively about their mecha love and adopted father love (duh).

Joseph is the funniest character of the show.

Episode 24… Azusa died in a pretty fucked way, Haruka confessed her love to her mecha, and Chihaya is deh new Sephiroth… but I must confess that I’m looking forward to the final fight between Haruka and Yukiho.

Lucky Star 21

Blogged by on Wednesday October 3rd, 2007 at 3:08 am in Anime (spoilers), English | 0 Comments »

Wait… what ? didn’t Lucky Star end already ? There was even a post about it already…

yeah but heh… a.f.k. just released their release of the 21th episode, so it makes a good reason to watch this great episode again, the one with the school trip to Nara and Kyoto.

Even when Miyuki is speaking, Kagamin can’t take her eyes off Kona-chan.

Patty got a little appearance in this episode. I hope she will get more screentime if there is a second season. The manga totally ignores her, sadly. :/

Hiyorin’s only appearance was win.

After she saw Tsukasa being nearly raped by a bunch of deers, Konata lures Kagamin because she wants to be raped by her… am I wrong ?

As I said in the previous post about Lucky Star, Konata was the only one who noticed Kagamin’s change of attitude.

This scene was very painful for me to watch.

2007-08-28-05-00-08.jpg
We love Kagamei.

Dennou Coil 13, Seto no Hanayome 26 (END)

Dennou Coil 13, great episode again. Fumie-chan rocks <3

Last episode of Gurren Lagann was epic, but last episode of Seto no Hanayome was quite epic too. XD

I noticed that I didn’t even post any screenshots of Akeno, aka the “Nayamashi Banchou”, in the previous Seto no Hanayome post, even though she’s my second favorite. Old-fashionned kendoka girls à la Motoko (Love Hina) always rock.

Delicious Maki, Masa-san, and Shark Fujishiro, the kick-ass trio.

Overally, it was a pretty funny show. Sometimes a little too crazy, but it had also some hilarious moments and parodies.

Gurren Lagann (episodes 1 ~ 27 END)

Short summary : In a world where people lives underground, Simon, a digger, finds a mysterious robot head. When he’s about to show his find to Kamina, a guy who dreams to go on the surface, a giant robot and a girl fighting against it fall down in Simon’s village.

Honestly, what can I say about this show ?

Best show of 2007, period.

I must confess that if I started to watch this show, it’s only because I saw some Yoko fanarts. ‘Cause actually, I hate mecha animes. But after watching the 3 first episodes straight, I could say one thing : before being a mecha anime, this show is firstly an awesome anime. Just like Escaflowne. It has mecha, but you just don’t think about it ’cause the show is just too fuckin great.

Also, Kamina : coolest male character I saw in my life.

Epic. You can summarize this show by this word. Dunno why, but the more it became “exaggerated”, the more it was exciting and great to watch. I truly enjoyed seeing the main characters becoming more and more powerful, and kicking everybody’s ass in some gigantic fights. And it got a great and “real” ending, so I’m fully satisfied with this show and, rather than feeling empty that it finished, I’m happy that I could see such a great show.

Yoko, the hot gunman. She is awesomely kick-ass. I would have never watched this show if I didn’t see so much fanarts of her. Well I didn’t know she was 14 though. XD

We shed manly tears.

Nia, the ultimate loveness, dubbed by the extremly graceful voice of Sarah Adiemus’s seiyuu (Yukari Fukui). The first encounter between Simon and Nia will be I think one of my favorite moments in anime history.

Obligatory beach episode. More Nia.

A short-haired Nia is fine too.

Darry, she was the #1 girl of the show for some episodes. She’s cool, serious, mature and totally rocks. Moreover, she’s dubbed by Shizuka Itou (Akiha-sama/Hinagiku).

Man, I should be ashamed for flooding this post with Nia fanservice, and for not taking more screenshots of the other characters or some of the awesome scenes. But really, the show was so captivating that I didn’t even think of taking screenshots…

A real man won’t die even if he’s killed.
