Today’s random scans posting action is the newest Hayate no Gotoku volume, released about one week and half ago.

A quick read, because it contained lot of splashes, and a large part about the crew taking a stroll in Athens. Though, it contained also the biggest revelations in the manga so far, which some of them probably causing the manga to take a whole new direction on some points in the future.

New Hayate no Gotoku KITAAAAAAAAAA !!!

Do I ever have to mention again that HnG is the manga I’m most looking forward to everytimes ?

And the nice thing is that this book kept all its promises (yeah, Hyakko #5… orz). I could even say that it was one of the best books of the serie so far. The plot is moving rather slowly (well good thing I would say, don’t want it to end XD), but it gets a well-balanced amount of everything that makes HnG so awesome : romance, lulz, and combat butler action (when did the later one happen for the last time, I wonder ? XD ).

Time for random scans, intense Hina-san goodness incoming.

Izumi seems to somewhat remember that Hayate was the boy she kissed when she was younger. GO GO IZUMI ENDING !!!

Wataru gets from his mother one of the mysterious stones that Hayate and Aika-san also own, and that’s the starting point of a turn of events that will make HnG going back into combat butler mode (kinda).

Hina feels down and starts to reconsider her whole ‘I’m waiting Hayate to confess to me’ attitude, when Hayate suddenly shows up…
Hayate : “Hinagiku-san… Isn’t there anything you want to confess to me ?”

Mikado has changed the rule regarding the Sanzen’in inheritance : now the one who takes the stone from Hayate will get the inheritance. And some old chars are back for giving it a try XD

Because of a certain event from the previous volume, Hina believes that Hayate luvs fragile girls… and decides to act as one by losing on purpose… Kimoi~ XD (< watch/read Kannagi if you don’t get this)

But after that this Gilbert jerk made fun of Hina’s cute DFC, she turns back into the Hina-san we love~

Hina-san will have the opportunity to get again one step forward Ayumu in next volume with that ‘restaurant event’. Not mentionning that she seems to be ready to put her pride aside and to confess to Hayate sometime. But I get the feeling that Athena won’t let this happen…

Been a long time without manga posts.

And joy on earth, though I’ve almost forgotten about it, the newest Hayate volume got released in japan last week. Got released here yesterday, and immediately gave it a read because HAYATE CAN’T WAIT.

This cover is HAWT (Hamzawa-san).

And since every new Hayate release is a major event to me, here is the obligatory random scans post. Well, compared to previous Hayate posts, I don’t really have that much to post this time. Actually, somewhat like the previous volume, this book was a ‘transition’ volume. The ‘Wataru-mama arc’ ended, and the rest of the book is about the crew getting ready and gathering in Greece for what will probably be the most important arc of the manga and which would probably starts in next volume (I’m just hoping that this arc won’t be the last one orz).

One particular thing I want to say though :

Izumi is the one for Hayata-kun.

My love for Izumi grew a bit again after reading this book. Well, since I’m all for a Ayu x Hina pairing and that Sakuya’s chances for getting Hayate are near from 0%, I’m now totally rooting for a Hayate x Izumi ending. Ok, it gets like 1% of chance to happen but still… Izumi is MAI ENJE~RU.

Ok, time to deliver some <3s.

Wataru-mama : “Long ago, there was a person who was loved even by God. I really loved that person. You can call it ‘adoration’ too. But one day, this person got married with somebody else. It was a huge shock to me.”

At first, I thought that Wataru-mama was gay for Nagi-mama because of the flashback pic. But now that I think of it, since she doesn’t mention any name, it is also possible that she was in love with the guy Nagi-mama got married with. As for why the guy looks like Hayate… well, let’s not think too deeply about it, and just guess that it means that Nagi-mama was in love with her butler. Probably not Hayate’s big bro, or else it would make Hayate to be Nagi’s uncle XD

Nagi’s dreams are becoming more and more perverted ._.

I like seeing Miki and Risa supporting Izumi’s love for Hayata-kun. Well, they mostly pick on her, and I guess that Miki would be glad to see Hayate out of the picture and not interfering with her yuri love for Hinagiku. XD But still, that’s lovely.

Hamzawa-san too finally gets her ‘snow-white’ scene. I guess it make her being a step forward Hinagiku. Well, on a side note, I get the feeling that Hina’s chances for getting Hayate are dropping down badly. Firstly because of her ‘I hate to lose so I’m waiting Hayate to confess to me instead of confessing to him’ attitude, and secondly, as Hamzawa-san said in this volume, Hinagiku is just too great for Hayate XD
… That saddens me a bit though…

Been 2 weeks already that the new volume of Hayate no Gotoku got released, and have read it last week so it’s time for deh random scans.

Actually I haven’t scanned that much from it, because this volume was some ‘transition’ volume. Means, it was filled with random stories which ain’t related to the Mykonos Island arc and the whole End Of The World stuff. Though, it seems it gets back into the seriousness again in the next volume (that what the author said in the atogaki).

But anyway, one would say that HnG is the best when it gets its usual love and crazyness so you may say it was a quite enjoyable volume. Well don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed it very much too. But yeah I’m such a sucker for drama… sorry orz

And so, this volume ends at the climax of that Wataru/Wataru-mama ‘interlude arc’. Well, not so much to say about it, just that it’s refreashing to see Wataru as the male lead. I have a lot of sympathy for him. And w00t for the Saki and Saku saabisu~

Now hafta wait until mid-June for moar Hayate goodness.

Though I can’t really get anime anymore, I could manage to get the first episodes (1 to 4) of the second season of the Hayate no Gotoku anime (there was no way I could miss that).

I was pretty surprised to see that this season starts with the content of the 6th volume of the manga. I mean, I could only watch the first half of the first season, which was 52 episodes long. So I wonder what the hell did they put in the second half of the show cause it sure doesn’t take 52 episodes for animating 5 volumes. ^^;

But well, who cares~. I SO HAVE WAITED FOR THIS SECOND SEASON.

Actually, the more I’m watching it, the more I wish for some Blue x Red to happen. Because of the manga I’ve been thinking that Hamzawa-san and Hina should be together forever, but I wish for Miki to find happiness too – she’s one of my favs – and Red-chan is most likely the one that would bring it to her. Well, she likes being picked on and Blue likes to pick on people XD

Again, I’ve been a bit disappointed to see that this whole ‘Shitsuji Tora no Ana’ arc was only 2 episodes long in the anime. They skipped all the part when Hayate becomes Hamzawa-san’s butler for one day :/ (it had a reference to it tho)

The 4th episode is my favorite episode so far. I liked the fact that now it goes ‘1 chapter = 1 episode’ (somewhat), making this episode well-paced and very enjoyable~

As promised, here is some random scans from the latest volume of Hayate no Gotoku (volume 18) and the final part of ‘THE END OF THE WORLD’, which was as expected tears, regrets, and tears (see this post for the first part). ;_;

Hayate, convinced that he made his parents change after his serious speech, accepts that his father puts in a ‘safe place’ the ring he got from Aa-tan…

Athena breaks after seeing in the mirror that Hayate gave the ring to his parents (man I wish them to die from an horrible death), and suddenly attacks Hayate while insulting his parents.

Hayate : “What the deal with you !! That’s because you don’t have parents that you’re saying all these horrible things… !!”
And that is when the world came to an end.

Hayate’s voice can’t reach Aa-tan anymore and she definitely gets serious at him. “DON’T CALL ME BY THAT NAME ANYMORE !”

They end up neutralizing each others.

“GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE !”

Athena comes to her senses, but too late…
“That’s not it, Hayate. I didn’t want to talk about this. But, you see ? It was the precious ring I gave you, you see ? You were smiling, watching them unscrupulously selling this ring… It made me really angry you know ? But well it can’t be helped, you’re an idiot so these parents could easily coax you. But you see, if you stay with these parents, you will never be happy. So, I was thinking that I had to protect you… So, that’s not it, Hayate… Me too… I want to stay with you… forever…”

“Again… I’m here all alone again… Hayate… please… please say my name again, Hayate…”

Hayate gets some comfort from his onii-san, the only member of his family whom he can count on.
“Once the rain stops falling, go apologize to her properly, ok ?”
But when Hayate goes back to Athena’s place, the forest in which there was the castle is gone, the land having been bought by Mikado Sanzen’in for builting the Hakuoh High School. After that, they never met again…

But somewhere in Greece, a strange blonde ojou-sama is thinking about making her way to Japan… and what a coincidence, the whole cast is about to go to Greece for the Golden Week XD
Anyway, w00t Athena, and more seriousness to come in the future~

And here comes the random scans from the 17th volume of the Hayate no Gotoku manga, which was mostly about Hayate’s past, and how he met with his childhood girlfriend Athena-chan (who has been mentionned occasionally since the 9th volume). No need to mention that if you hate major spoilers, don’t scroll down.

After losing the last bit of love and respect he had for his father, Hayate’s mind goes blank and he starts running aimlessly until he collapses in a huge garden. And the boy meets the girl…

And the girl’s name is Athena Tennousu. Scary eyes o_o;

A couple of pages later, Hayate loses his way in the huge castle and ends up in a place that he should had not have entered…

Thankfully Athena rapidly comes to her senses, and tells Hayate that she will show him something more interesting…

Athena shows to Hayate a magic mirror which has the power to show people the viewer knows. Since Maria is appearing, does it mean that Athena met Maria-san before ? Or is it just because the author felt again like drawing loli Maria just like on the back cover ? XD

Athena is angry at Hayate cause he said the girl in the mirror was super cute~ XD
She’s such a tsundere :)

H : “Because I… love you… Aa-tan…”
A : “… I can’t hear you… with this voice…”
H : “Eh ?”

Athena doesn’t understand why Hayate wants to go back living at his parents’ house, and Hayate tells her that he thinks he can make them change like he changed himself.

After that Athena refused to go live outside the castle with him, Hayate once again leaves the castle and walk aimlessly in the streets, until he meets again with Izumi. He tells her his problems with Athena, and Izumi suggests that he should make her a present for making up.

And that’s how Hayate began to work for money~

Athena gives him a ring in return.
I wonder where is that ring now… :o

Hayate leaves again the castle for telling his parents about Athena, and here ends this volume. OMG TEASER !

In the omake manga, Nagi asks the cast about faults they made in the past.
Hinagiku : “Long ago when I was a child,
Okaa-san was… Oka-… T_T ”
Maybe a hint that next volume will have a large part
about Hinagiku’s past ?

Next volume is released in two weeks in Japan.

From the preview of the next volume, it seems that the next extreme love & piece event will be… SAKUYA EVENT !!!

Heh, the preview was finally pretty misleading, cause it was only showing the panel in which she’s saying “but I really like that part of you”… Well, rather, I so wanted to see some Hayate x Sakuya to happen that I didn’t think a single second that this line would be aimed at somebody else orz

No need to mention that I don’t really approve this turn of events (I feel like it’s an easy way for Hata-sensei to get ‘rid’ of 2 side-characters from the love equation), but well I have to respect the author’s choice… In fact it was just a ‘minor event’ which apparantly didn’t have any consequences on their relationship in the end, but still I have to consider Saku x Wataru to be a possible pairing now… :/

In that scene, Hayate casually reveals that he has an older brother, and that there is a quite large age difference between the two of them.

Well… Guessing Hata-sensei’s way of thinking and considering the “Maria-san is Hayate’s childhood girlfriend” thing, my 25 cents that Hayate’s onii-san is Nagi’s former butler (what was his name again… Himegami ?). On a side note, this scene also reveals that Sakuya always wanted a big brother (one other than Gilbert. XD ), or more exactly that she always wanted to say ‘onii-chan’. XD Bro-con Saku moe~

Again, there was a large part of Ayu & Hina being buddy-buddy <3
Hehe this kind of scenes has always reminded me of FFVII (Yuffie~ <3)

Hayate volume 12 : aliens ? in my Hayate no Gotoku ?

Regardless, this volume delivered the most awesome scene in the whole manga.

The whole HnG cast (separately) decides to go to an onsen, and everybody ends up in the same onsen (lol coincidences).

While Hina is wondering if she must tell Ayumu about her feelings for Hayate, Ayumu asks for skinship. <3 <3 <3

Hina : “W- What ? ///”
Ayumu : “Nothing, I was just thinking that you have a nice skin…”
Hina : “ha… ?”
Ayumu : “Wow your hair are so silky too…”
Hina keeps worrying and ends up collasping in the onsen.

Here begins legendary scene.

H : “… where are we ?”
A : “In the dressing room. You collapsed…”
H : “Oh, I see… thanks for looking after me.”
A : “Eh ? iya there’s no need to thank me…”
A : “Actually I’m used to it. Long ago when I took baths with my little brother, he often went dizzy and collasped…”

Volume 13 : Sakuya’s birthday is approaching. I said it before in the previous HnG, but my love for Saku keeps growing at full speed for some reason. I don’t remember since when exactly, but I think it started when I played her route in the first NDS game (“Hayate no Gotoku Boku ga Romeo de Romeo ga Boku de”). Never before that I actually considered her as a potential lover for Hayate and she used to be my least favorite (mostly because there are too much awesome characters already so I was always forgetting about Saku orz), but when I saw her all lovey-dovey with Hayate I found that totally refreshing and cute.

All this for saying that Saku is now one of my favs, and for introducing the following scan :

It’s been a moment already, but Saku now calls Hayate by his first name instead of Ayasaki or ‘Shakkin Hitsuji’. Also, in one random chapter in which Nagi is busy with a mecha-Hayate (!), Sakuya was casually reading books in Hayate’s room while he was doing his homeworks :o
They sure became quite a pair of buddies.

With all the awesome Hina x Ayumu goodness from the previous volume and the recurrent bit of Hayate x Saku sweetness spreaded here and there in almost every chapters, I tend to forget that my second fav is supposed to be Isumi… but she’s so unused, and the few chapters she’s in generally lacks of interest and are nothing near the great Isumi route in the first HnG NDS game. Most of the time she’s only here for cosplay and comical relief, and this chapter was a good exemple of that. orz
But still… That blushing face of her is damn cute <3 <3 <3

Saku : “ok then I’ll learn you the true spirit of a maid”
Hayate : “yay~ then you will dress into a maid too, Sakuya-san ?”
Saku : “…”
Saku : “Oh that’s right, that’s right… You love maids very much don’t you, Butler-in-debt ?”

Hmmm… So they really are sisters, it’s confirmed later in a chapter that tells a bit about Hina’s past… Dunno, feel a little bit disappointed since she’s not exactly like Hayate (he didn’t have a big brother/sister he could rely on… ok Yukiji isn’t reliable at all but still XD)… and man they look so nothing like each others :o

Ha : “I don’t have the requirements for having a girlfriend”
Hi : “… why ?”
Ha : “I don’t have the ability to rear a girl”
Ha : “If a boy want to date a girl, he must have the ability to keep her safe from troubles during her whole life !”

Hayate’s first love… well I feel like she’ll definitely appear eventually, but Hata-sensei doesn’t plan to add her in the Hayate x Hina x Ayumu x Maria whole thing, does he ???

Well that’s nothing new, just that it makes me want to see more Hayate x Iinchou-san events <3 <3 <3
… Man they really should make a gyaruge… an Izumi route is badly needed.

Maria-san joins the clan of the ‘abandoned children’, but why do I feel not surprised at all ? Maybe because it’s so “Maria-san” like. I mean, like, it’s just natural for characters like Maria-san to have this kind of past, I guess. I just hope it won’t give an handicap to Hamzawa-san, not being an abandoned child ^^;

Nagi x Wataru, tsundere x tsundere.
Seeing this, I do feel like it’s a plausible ending, and I definilety approve of it. I find them rather cute <3

Actually, I just hope it won’t end with a Hayate x Nagi ending… Nagi should be with Isumi or Wataru and let Hayate spend quality time with the other girls… For some reason I just can’t think of Nagi as a potential lover for Hayate.

Volume 10 has more info about Hina’s past, like how Yukiji and her met the Katsura family. Loli Yukiji :o

LAST MINUTE UPDATE :

Yesterday I bought the freshly released Hayate volume 17 (and the 16th for finally completing the collection).

On the back of the book, there is actually a pic of Hayate’s childhood girlfriend I mentionned earlier, the mysterious Aa-tan. :o And well, that just confirms everything I was thinking of it :

WHERE DID I SEE THAT FACE BEFORE ?

I actually had a hunch that she might be Maria-san, and that picture seems to confirm it (well that or that she may be Aerith’s reincarnation XD). I mean, the author just couldn’t add another potential lover to Hayate, so making Maria-san to be the childhood girlfriend was the most logical option.

On a more or less unrelated note, seeing Sakuya on the cover reminds me that I’m growing everyday more and more love for her, and I don’t know why.

I’ve started to read the Hayate manga some weeks ago, thanks to the fact that I got half of the released books for cheap in a japanese library which sells second-hand manga.

I talked about the anime already before (here), and it’s licensed almost everywhere so everybody knows about the story. For me, HnG is the anime/manga in which there is the largest number of lovely characters ever. Hinagiku, Isumi, Ayumu, Miki, Izumi, Saki, Maria-san, Sakuya, Nagi (almost in order of preference)… I love them all.

Hinagiku is definitely one of my favorite characters ever.
I love her smile pretty much. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Actually, I could only watch the anime until the 27th episode and the beginning of the butler tournament (here), so I had to wait until the 6th volume for reading things I didn’t see in the anime. So here starts the highlights and random scans~

Actually, it’s only since I started to read the manga in japanese that I learned that Hinagiku may apparantly be an adopted child, cause when she calls her ‘mother’ the furigana say ‘okaa-san’ but the kanji say ‘stepmother’. Well at least it would explain
why she doesn’t look like her sis.
Anyway, want more HHH quality moments (Hayata x Hinagiku x Hamzawa-san)

When I see these gyaruge-like scenes on the back covers, I can’t help but think that they should definitely make a Hayate no Gotoku Ps2 gyaruge.

That was some delicious copypasta~. Honestly, I love how the things are going, the HHH love triangle that is. At first I was all for a Hinagiku ending, but like I say girls who confess their love properly win. Moreover, there is Miki… So I’m now mostly for a Hamzawa-san ending, but with the recent Hina x Ayu chapters I’m not sure anymore. XD Man I’ve never been so indecisive about the ending I wish since School Rumble and the awesome Yakumo x Kenji x Eri thing.
